It's a Christmas-sy Time of Year

I love Christmas. Giving gifts to other people is such a fabulous feeling, especially when the gift-ee likes the present. For the past 2 years, I've taken to giving my students a bag of lollies with a small gift in little bags. The first year I made little paper bags with named baubles (which I showed off in one of my first posts!!), last year... I can't actually remember! I think it was giant fluffy pens (...yeah, I was out of ideas.)

This year, I'm so excited as to what I'm giving them.

I actually made bags, and practiced my embroidery skills by embroidering their names. Thankfully I only have a few students, so it really didn't take too long. I used Wild Olive's coffee bag tutorial as inspiration for this project!

I intend to fill them with lollies, like usual, which means I get to eat the leftovers, hehe.

Thanks to this project, my embroidery skills have improved, but I can't say the same for my ability to sew in straight lines... I'll get the hang of it eventually, I swear! Hehe.

I also used green thread! In all honesty, I prefer the green thread embroidery, it looks so much better in my opinion. However, I am also loving the ribbon! ...Mainly because it involves polka dots, my all time favorite pattern.

What I'm also including for my female students, is some little (matching, of course) hair bows! My male students get extra lollies, or so I'm planning.

I actually made little wrappers to go with it (where the white lace is), but as it turns out, they were way too tiny to actually put around the bows... I can't even remember what I originally got this lace for it's been so long...

All in all, I'm looking forward to handing these over to my students in 2 weeks!

...and eating the leftover lollies.
