For the Wild Olive stitch swap, I had to buy a 4" embroidery frame. I found these really cute ones, in a set of 3. Also, I couldn't pass up the oppertunity to get ones with such adorable hooks!!
I figured it would be pretty easy to find a way how to use them, at least that's what I thought.
Cut to a week ago, when I was bored and trying to figure out what to do with it. I had this cute idea based off something I'd seen - you know those cute embroideries which are French knots outlining a word? I was wanting to do something like that, and maybe I eventually will, it just didn't work for this frame. Either that or the font I was using didn't fit it well enough. I do intend to try that sometime, just not for the moment.
I also knew I needed some French knot practice, so a-Google'ing I went. My favourite? Rainbow French knots, of course. I thought it'd be easy to replicate. So I did.
It was so easy! I just divided it up into 6, picked my colours, turned on Gossip Girl, and stitched away.
Turns out French knots are super easy now. Also I have an adorable embroidery sitting on the hook above my bed. I'm loving the bright colours, on a plain white wall it's so bright and cheerful!
Wish I could remember what DMC colours I used so I could share them.
Until next time,
