Apple pie baked in the apple

These came from a admittedly not well thought through dinner.  My mum's friend from Japan was staying the night, and I volunteered to make dinner.  I made two pasta sauces (pasta ala vodka (without cream) and a "Turkish meatballs" sauce), and decided to make the apple pies in the apple for dessert.

There's only one bad thing I can say about these apple pies, and that's if you put a hole in the apple skin, you end up with a gluggy mess on the bottom of the tin (still tastes great, though).  I loooved this with icecream, and it didn't dry out, either!  Mm, so good.



I'm really looking forward to make these again, and to hone my apple-excavating skills.   A girl's gotta have some quirky dessert recipes up her sleeve ;)  I got the recipe from here!
