Cake Month: Kickass 100's and 1,000's

This cake is probably my favorite cake out of all the ones I've ever made.  Sprinkles and an awesome food dye centre?  Yeah, that's right up my alley.

Although, this cake wasn't for me - I volunteered to make my boyfriend's younger sister's birthday cake.  It took forever to think of an appropriate cake; the only clues I was given was that she likes chocolate and the colour blue.  Yeah, not overly useful, but when I saw this cake I simply had to make that one with blue rather than purple.  Perfect for a party and totally kickass.

Oh, this cake just makes me smile, it's so cheerful!

One thing I'm terrible at is keeping secrets - so it was super hard keeping the inside as a surprise!  It really was totally worth it, the birthday girl totally loved her cake.

How awesome did it look?  I'm officially hooked on the gel colouring, it really is fabulous.  Really can't wait to make something like this again, I'm thinking cupcakes with the ombre-ness...
