For the last few years, I've been teaching piano. Since I occasionally have a half hour free here and there, I've taken to practicing random pieces again. I figure since I have the ability and the time, I may as well learn some awesome pieces / stuff I've wanted to learn for years / pieces which could get me a job playing at a wedding or where ever. So... I found a little black notebook to decorate to turn into my piano "fix this" notebook.
Of course it had to have a piano on the front. My initial idea was to use a piano bookmark pattern which I posted ages back, putting holes in the cover and stitching using wool. Turns out, I had to separate the strands (what's the right word?) of wool to use it. So. Much. Frustration. Lesson learned - don't try to separate the wool and try to stitch with it - it breaks sooooo easily.
To get the holes so even, I taped a piece of 1/2cm graph paper to the front cover of the book and used a massive safety pin to poke the holes.
I love how it turned out! It's so cheerful and different! It's a totally different way to cover a book, especially one with a plastic cover. Only downside is that it's so very frustrating to make...
Until next time,

P.S.: It has been a while since I posted a picture of (one of) my cats, so here's Jesse being cute:
