Having my "magpie" moment

If there's one thing I love, it's things that sparkle.  Call me what you want, but if it glitters or sparkles then I'm automatically interested.  So we're clear, I am in my 20's.  I make no apologies for this in the slightest.

There is a short back story behind this one.  For this semester, I finish around 2pm, which gives me plenty of time to walk the few kilometers from the train station to my house.  After going to uni one day a few weeks ago, I walked those few kilometers back home in ballet flats.  Needless to say, I had a few blisters on the balls of my feet that day.  In comes Pinterest.  I saw a picture of sparkly, glitter sneakers by Christian Louboutin.  While I flatly refuse to fork out that much money on a pair of sneakers, I knew I had the perfect pair of sneakers to glitter-fy.

You know those shoes, the ones which are completely adorable but they're just not quite the right fit for your wardrobe?  That's what these sneakers were to me.  Adorable enough to keep around but not quite the  right fit for my very girly wardrobe.

While I was mixing my fabric glue - glitter mix, I had two "helpers".  While they're adorable, Patch (the dog)... likes to sniff.  And be patted.  Constantly.  Moses (the cat) was quite content to sit on the chair and just "supervise".

Oh, instead of using PVA glue and glitter, I used fabric glue - so I could have some flexibility when it dried, rather than it ending up super stiff.  I'm so excited to wear them to uni next week!  Ignoring the fact that one of my exercise books will exactly match these shoes...
