Just before I begin with today's post, since Google Reader shut down on Monday, I just wanted to quickly mention that if you want to follow this blog in another way everything (...that I could think of, anyway, haha) is all to your right in the sidebar!
The Pintester Movement is all about testing the pins that Sonja Faust (the writer of Pintester.com) has tested and then you going and testing one of those pins. Conveniently, she'd pintested one of the pins that has been sitting on my boards for ages - newspaper nails.
Only issue with this is, I'm reasonably sure I don't have a newspaper- I avoid public transport at peak hour (so no mX's for me) and to get a paper delivery we have to pay. Since my family doesn't read the paper... Hm, this is an issue. Thank you junk mail - my nails will now be covered in office supply information.
Now, the instructions say for a nude coloured polish, but since I don't have one, a cute mint one had to do.
Waited for it to dry and cut up pieces of my very exciting office supplies catalog. Dunked my paper into the vodka and stuck it to my nails. Turns out if I left the paper a little longer on my nails it left a better impression. Also just because I'm a uni student doesn't mean I'm drinking during the day.
Mostly because I'm a lightweight.
But that's beside the point.
Would I do this manicure again? (ignoring the fact that I haven't tidied up my nails here) Probably, it's kind of cute, though I might try a patterned piece of paper or smaller print next time though. Or have a vodka-based drink with it.
Various stuff which you should know before I go:
