Or a 10 year old bedside table.
Yeah, not actually joking, I've had this bedside table for 10 years, and it has been holding my stuff for (let's do the math here) about 3,653 days give or take. For 1,826.5 of those days (again, give or take a bit here) it's desperately needed a makeover- with its cracked top and (I'll admit it) rather blah colour to begin with. Armed with a colour catalogue thingy, I picked my colour and got a 500mL sample pot.
The colour I chose is called "Empress Envy" - it's entirelly possible that while I was painting the base coat I said out loud "this is such a happy colour". ...I swear I did this outdoors and the paint didn't smell that bad... To make the ombre (just in case you were curious), I grabbed two plastic bowls and a ancient tablespoon. For the lightest colour I used 15 spoonfuls of white and 5 spoonfuls of green; the middle one was 10 of both white and green. With the 500mL pot, there was more than enough left over- even after I'd done a base coat of the original colour.
And now, a series of before/after pics to show it off! (Yes. This thing still makes me happy every morning when I wake up)
What about you? Have that one (or more!) item of furniture that has really needed a makeover for an insane amount of time?
Catch you next time!
