Welcome to 7 days of Christmas! Since Christmas time's pretty much my fave time of year (...candy canes, guys, candy canes) (we're ignoring the fact that I prefer winter over summer, especially summer here in Australia), I decided to attempt something new - 5 days of Christmassy posts!
Today: all about ...how to make the cheap wrapping paper look fancy/expensive. Note: presents have been pre-wrapped to protect the innocent.
...That's not right.
Take 2: presents have been pre-wrapped to not ruin the surprise for the gift-ees.
Yes. I use the cheap, multipack Christmas wrapping paper, rather than plain brown paper and decorate it, as per Pinterest demands.
Find a print you like, then what I've discovered to make it look less cheap ('cause let's be honest, a lot of them look insanely cheap) would be to use actual ribbon rather than curling ribbon. You can either double up (refer to the first picture) or tie it off to the side (refer picture 3) for as-easy-as-curling ribbon looks. The other thing I've done is DIY'd up a fake bow (picture 2) - let's be honest, actual bows are kind of expensive (even in multipacks), so if you're out, try a couple of strands of curling ribbon lumped together. Fake bows for the win!
Finally, how I've been wrapping my poor boyfriend's presents for years now- taping every single opening up so it's rather hard to open. It's proved to be rather amusing (for me), haha.

See you tomorrow!
